Default What is the longest you have gone without collecting?

Some of you have a ton of DVDs and Blu-Rays but have you ever hit a couple months or so where you just could not afford anything. With my job I only make enough to pay my bills which sucks because I want to buy some new Blu-Rays, but I have to watch my budget at least for a couple months. What is the longest you guys have gone without buying Blu-rays or any other kind of accessory to it?

I get mad at myself for spending$$$ on movies I dont need. I will get so mad that I have gone 4-5 weeks before spending again. To this day I hate myself for all the money I have spent on about 70% of them movies.

I just get to the point where I've caught up on all the DVDs or BRs I want. There was a period of nearly a year where I only bought 1 DVD... I had 300+ at the time.

And my BR wishlist is down to only a few... so it's about to slow down.

The longest I have gone was probably 2 weeks. I love buying and watching movies. I just don't buy any movie though I made up a long list of movies that I want on blu Ray and I usually pick 5 a week off the list and buy them. Maybe when I get every movie on the list then I'll probably go a little bit longer in between but it's probably going to be awhile before then.

I think I like your collection more than any other I've seen so far.

I'm in the same boat, I'm on a tight budget myself, plus I only buy my absolute favorite movies on Blu...I've owned hundreds of DVD's, and over the course of that time it dawned on me, that I was being wasteful. I had all these movies, of which I usually only watched maybe a quarter of them once or twice a year, all the rest collected dust. That's about the only reason I can actually think of, as to why I'm grateful for Blu being a bit more expensive...in a good way, it's helped show me the difference between what movies I want, and what movies I need. I will only be replacing maybe 25%-30% of all the previous titles I owned on DVD, most of which I've since sold off as I never watched them...In answer to your question, I often go several months without purchasing a Blu-ray, or any other product related to the format.

Thanks I appreciate you taking the time checking it out. Yeah I take pride in my collection a select few I got because of my girlfriend such as the twilight films but they're still alright films, my girlfriend sometimes gives me a hard time about the movies I buy, but she has no idea how good mostly everyone of them are.

By the way I checked your collection out as well and it's very nice. I seen you're a pixar fan as well. They're probably my favorites in my collection.

I've gone about three weeks without buying a BD but only because I was on vacation. And to be honest, I didn't miss it. I barely watched any TV then. Maybe i should go on vacation more.

I haven't since I bought into blu ray, unless there was nothing I wanted (which I can't think of a time where that happened). That bieng said, I didn't buy many dvd's as I was waiting for something with better quality.

I went on a spell for a month and a half where I bought nothing. I was cash poor at the time.

The last Blu Ray I bought was Juno and that was in Feb. The last HD-DVD I bought was Saturday and that was Billy Madison. I haven't bought any DVD's forever.

I've been buying at least a couple of blu's per week for about a year now, and I have no intention of slowing down.

I hate that i like so many genres. From the silliest comedy to the most serious drama. That makes it expensive.

Theres never really any breathing room for my wallet.....or my CC =)
