Default Should I change my PS3's setting from 1080i to 720p?

Admittedly, I'm pretty new to the whole Blu-ray experience and I'm not well-versed with the technical stuff. I'll just list the facts:

I have a PS3, HDTV and HDMI cables. My HDTV doesn't go any higher than 1080i. I've had different people tell me different things--that since 1080i is the higher resolution, I should keep it on that. Others have told me that 720p will look better as that's what all 1080i TVs really are. Is there a noticeable difference either way?

This subject will inevitably open up an argument between people. Here is the bottom line. What looks best to you? Can you tell a difference?

I agree. To the OP I say try both settings for yourself. Change back and forth a few times to see the difference for yourself. What looks best to you is what you should go with. I preferred 1080i myself when I didn't have a 1080p enabled HDTV.
