Default Multiple speakers on 1 wire, bad practice?

Hello all.

I'm just curious as to what harm can come from hooking multiple speakers to 1 wire, or 1 output, from my system. Basically, my scenario is as follows: I have a relatively large room that my theater is in. I'd like to have rear speakers in the right and left corners and also rear speakers in the back behind the last couch (one on each side, on the wall).

By doing this, could any damage be done to my system or speakers? Is there a high risk for a fire?
