Default Star Wars or Indiana Jones?

So the two franchises that made George Lucas the success he is today, yet which is better and why?

For me it is very difficult because I love both to bits and Harrison Ford is just so perfect in both of them. I really can't choose at the moment and I guess it really depends on what mood I'm in because when I hear the Star Wars theme it makes me want to watch Star Wars, but when I hear the Indy theme it makes me want to watch Indiana Jones, sooo... I don't know I'll have to think about it.

But what about you, which do you prefer and why?

Indiana Jones is very good, possibly one of the top 10 trilogies ever but Star Wars is the best film franchise ever.

Tough to compare genres. I would say that Raiders of the Lost Ark would be my preferred movie of the 10 titles in those series, with Empire Strikes Back a close second. For all my love of Star Wars, there were also more annoyances... Jawas, Jar-Jar, Ewoks, some casting decisions... so i'd probably give the slightest edge to Indiana Jones.

My pick is Star Wars. But I do like Indy as well. I think the reason for going with Star Wars is that there are just so many things that come from those movies that are found in everyday life.

I mean how many references (or memories) in your average month have to do with stuff from Star Wars (characters, phrases, toys, actors, etc)? Versus things from Indy?

Just my two cents!

Amazing! For myself, I've never seen The Godfather, any parts. One day, I guess.

Oh my dear!!! I can't seem to make up my mi..

STAR WARS

Indiana Jones is fun and all, but

Star Wars is everything I could ever hope for in a movie!

Star Wars has deep meaning, breath-taking visuals, perfect scores,

one of a kind characters, art and design packed into each and every frame.....

Dr. Jones without any second thoughts. I was a huge fan of both growing up, but Indiana Jones (sans KOTCS) is still my favorite series, and Raiders is my favorite movie period. My interest in Star Wars has waned off, and I really lost interest after the prequels.

Indiana Jones. It's my all-time favorite film franchise. Never really liked Star Wars all that much.

As a trilogy (the original three 'Star Wars' films against the first three 'Indiana Jones' movies), I'd have to go with 'Star Wars'...

I prefer Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones was a series I watched with my family growing up and I always enjoy watching the movies (especially Raiders and Crusade). Star Wars might be the better film series and more influential over movie history but I don't enjoy watching the movies all the time; I do like them a lot though.

That depends: If we're talking the original Trilogy, then Star Wars. If prequels, Indiana. (Maybe with the exception of Episode III.)

Star Wars(1977) and Raiders are both in my top five favorites list, but I will give Star Wars the nod because it had an awesome sequel while the Indi follow ups did not do too much for me.

Great topic OP....this is really a tough one for me. I grew up watching the Indy Movies with my dad and Last Crusade made Sean Connery one of my favorite actors ever. Hard as it is to believe, I had never watched ANY of the Star Wars movies in their entirety until January of 2009. Borrowed all 6 from a friend and made a weekend of it. While they were all enjoyable in their own ways, I give the nod to Indy all day every day.

I say Star Wars.

Here is why:

If it wasn't for Star Wars movies today wouldn't have existed. It went beyond the border with effects and imagination. It took the game to a whole new level.
