Default Feeling better

For a while now I've been feeling weird, not sure why, about owning hd discs, so today I found a buyer and went Blu only, and strange enough I feel a lot better now.

The decision happend when I read a post on here yesterday, well I guess it made me open my eyes. On top of Ridley being a Blu man and such well, its time to support only one format.

Sorry for waisting your time with this thread, have a good day.

congrats on leaving HD-DVD behind! I know what you mean about feeling "weird" about buying HD-DVDs, I thought about it once and felt weird about it too so I decided to stick strictly with Blu.

I'm glad you are feeling less stress on your decision. This is the only way to end this non-sense war. Stick to our guns. The HD DVD group is going to throw all they can to try and sway Blu ray supporters their way...that is really all they have left.

I say this because it has become apparent to me that the majority of consumers are quite unaware with the Hi Def media market. They may have heard about either format but don't really know anything about them. So unless better education or advertising gets out into the homes these people won't be the ones deciding the war.

For instance, I was in Best Buy yesterday and overheard an employee talking to a customer about the PSP and PS3. It sounded like he really wanted the PS3 but didn't want to spend the money. After the employee walked away I and another person filled him in on features of the PS3 and difference between the 60Gig and 80Gig versions. He was still trying to justify the cost until I told him that it also plays Blu ray movies. I could tell he didn't quite know what that was so I pointed him towards the Sony Blu ray kiosk showing movies and all I can say is that his eyes lite up and he got on his cell phone to, I'm guessing here but, call either his wife or significant other (he was with his daughter). He was at the display for quite a long time. So he was obviously unaware of what Blu ray really was, but the good thing is now he knows. Sorry for carrying on...

Again, congrats "Blu-Dock Saints" on making a stand...we all need to support Blu ray which is the better format.

And so this is how I felt back when I read Old School and Anchorman(Two of my favorite comedies) were going to be released on HDDUD. But then I took a deep breath, came online....and saw the buy 2 get 1 free deal. And bought some movies....which in turn got me pumped about blu again. Then I saw the thread detailing all of the upcoming releases(almost made a mess in my pants)....which brought me back to earth.

BLU-DOCK, I was in the same boat as y ou, I had the PS3 with over 40 movies, and XBOX360 HDDVD Add-on with only the FREE movies that are supposed to come with it via mail. After a short while, I realized that I would never pay a dime for an HDDVD disc, neither Transformers, nor Shrek3 or Blades of Glory were going to change my mind. After 2 weeks of pondering about this dilemma, during the Paramount/DDreamwoks fall out, I decided..SCREW HDDVD and SCREW PARAMOUNT, I am going BLU 100%, even if I have to miss out on a couple of good movies. Even though I always were BLU since all of my purchased movies are BLURAYS. So I said screw it, I am not gonna keep this piece of junk and I took it back to Best Buy about 10 days after my 30 day allowed return, but the customer service clerks were cleary BLU-Friendly and they gave me the wink "so it looks like another defective HDDVD add-on, sir do you care to get a replacement or should we just credit your Discover account the $195" ....they probably wanted me to spend the $195 on more BD movies at their store, but I chose to spend the money I saved on Fry's and Amazon during their crazy Bluray sales last week. So yeah I am HDDVD-Free as well, and I clearly chose to be BLU since day 1 when the PS3 came out (thats BLU DAY 1 for me), but I reaffirmed my position by returning that P.O.S HDDVD Add On. I love my PS3 and my XBox360 when it comes to gaming, but when it comes to Movies BLU is the only way!

I share your enthusiasm:
Every time I watch an HD broadcast on the new set, I keep thinking, "Okay, this is it--I feel good about being a hi-def owner! Tomorrow, I'm going to stop putting things off, rush down to Best Buy and finally buy that Blu player that...doesn't...have...1.1...yet......Darn. It's still not Q4 yet. "

(Still, at least the fighting spirit is there!)

exactly...nip the sales in the bud..

if you're not buying movies...the new owner will...

but there's no reason to trash a player you paid hard earned money for...

Blu-Dock, if anyone should be a blu-blood member now, it is you. See my signature and join us!

So, tell us about this buyer. They have a nervous twitch or something? Wear a baseball hat backwards, or some stuff like that?
