Default Double Dipping?

Say Blu-ray wins the format war and someday competes with DVD, does anyone have any doubt that we will see double dipping on the movies already released?

I would think that anything with poor PQ and AQ would be re-released in the future. Like any ports from HD-DVD that didn't maximize the use of a BD-50, or anything that was squeezed onto a BD-25.

If Blu-ray does take over, all the techs encoding the movies would be a lot more in tune with getting the best they can out of each movie, and not to mention the new features possible with 1.1 and 2.0 that aren't on any current release.

This is why I didn't rush out and buy all the Paramount releases with HD-DVD ports and regular Dolby 5.1... Well I did but cancelled the order the same day.

Anyone else holding off buying subpar encodes because of this?
