Default Townhouse Basement Theater

Well... I finally got time to post updated pics of the home theater setup I built this past spring. Hope you guys enjoy.

I'm just gonna link to my gallery since posting each pic in this thread is gonna be a pain in the butt

The initial stages:

https://www.blu-ray.com/community/ga...6&folderid=466

The end result:

https://www.blu-ray.com/community/ga...6&folderid=461

The left overs:
https://www.blu-ray.com/community/ga...6&folderid=462

But here is the money shot...and the point of view I enjoy the most

The back end:

Thanks

It was hard to envision a theater in that room initially. My wife didn't even think it could work. But now she invites her girlfriends more often than I invite my friends to watch movies...lol.

The throw distance is roughly 14ft, which is near the middle. The seating distance for the front seats are 13.5ft and the backseats are 20ft.

Very impressive! Like the use of the red paint.

Thanks!

I haven't taken any pics of the projector in use for a while now. But the wife and I will be watching TDK this weekend so I'll take some shots then.

Wow, looks fantastic. I'm not huge on the wall color personally but it looks so clean and professional overall that I love it!

Totally off-topic, but where'd you get those cool superheroes on the mantle? I have a buddy who's a huge Iron Man fan, and I have only seen one or two of those things in stores.

Thanks... as for the red color, I really wanted a dark room, but I didn't want to have a completely black room. And the red is really darker than what the pictures show....so when the lights are off and the projector is on, it is like having a black room

As for the superheroes, those are the Marvel Mighty Muggs. They sell them everywhere (walmart, target, toysrus, etc.) but the selection is really dependent on when they restock. These things sell pretty fast.

I love your DVD shelves. Did you make them or buy them somewhere?

haha... i see that you have the same projector. very nice indeed. I love this projector...well worth the $$$.

I think the shelves is the only woodwork I didn't do in the basement... we got them at Ikea. We actually had them way before I built the theater and wife insisted that we still use them. The white shelves work nicely with the white trimmings in the wall.

I thought they looked like Ikea shelves. They work great in the room.
