Hellboy Blu-ray vs. regular DVD extended cut - Blu-ray Forum

The original theater release of Hellboy was 122 minutes. The Director's Cut Special Edition on DVD was 132 minutes. The Blu-ray version is also listed at 132 minutes, so, is the Blu-ray version actually the Director's cut? Has anyone checked this out? Any help would be greatly appreciated......

Yep,

it's the director cut.

But, I bought it anyway. (I kind of like the theatrical cut a little better but they are both good.) Long ago I bought the theatercal release and liked it enough to watch the outakes and thought to myself "yeah, I can see why they took that out" then .. they put it back, oh well.

Some scenes cut for the theatrical release were put back in making it the directors cut.

The two versions are very similar. I don't think it's much of a big deal in this case. Somewhere there has to be specific info about the differences online.

Actually I think the Director's Cut was much better. Some scenes while not really adding anything to the overall storyline were flushed out more giving the characters more depth. The additional scenes were chocolate mainly but it did seem to make the movie better. I normally do not like Director's Cuts but this one I found liking.
