United Kingdom Amazon.ca delivery time

Hi,

Anyone who has ordered from amazon.ca roughly know how long it took to actually get their item?

I ordered a few blu rays and they were posted about 3-4 weeks ago.

Amazon.com generally turn up in 7-10 days.

Thanks

did you use standard delivery ?

i have noticed when using Expedited via amazon.ca they send my blurays Via DHL which comes in about 2-3 days, so far ive had 6 movies this way so im very impressed with dhl and amazon.

amazon.com seem to take 1-2 weeks for me using standard or expedited.

I've only used Amazon.ca once (standard shipping) and it took nearly 2 months for the package to arrive. Amazon.com usually takes 7-14 days for me. That's to Ireland.

has anyone used the cheaper shipping options? They are kidding on the delivery times right?

Standard International Shipping (averages 30-40 weeks)
Expedited International Shipping (averages 7-14 weeks)
Priority International Courier (averages 2-4 business days)

40 weeks?
or pay a tenner more to get it in a fair time

Am wanting to Import Mr.Nobody and since its a Canadian only release (I already have the French version and would prefer a predominantly English version) it's not like I have any other options.

my question is: Do item's REALLY take this long? I mean even 30 week's is a joke.

It takes the time they say it's going to take.

but how and why is what I dont get. it's a relatively new release (jan 2011) and if their cousins to the south can manage it in 21 day's then why cant they?

It's the same thing as if Scotland advised shipping times of 6 months, for items going to Canada, yet us in the UK were able to ship within 1 month.

I've contacted them, querying it as elsewhere on the site is show's shorted delivery times to UK for 'in stock' items so let's see what they have to say.

I have ordered SteelBooks from them. Arrived within 3 days at cheapest shipping.

edit: Disregard what the delivery times say. Amazon.com takes longer.

I think mine took a bit longer than 3 days... but still no more than about a week or so. I agree, I think when I choose the cheapest shipping from Amazon.com for another item, it did take longer than Amazon.ca's at their cheapest.

Pretty ridiculous they're using that timescale to cover their backs though!

I have almost waited 3 weeks for something to arrive from an amazon.ca marketplace seller, and it still isn't here. Yet when I ordered something on another site (Inetvideo.ca), it only took 4 days and that was on cheap shipping. It seems like Amazon.ca can be quite unreliable, whilst most sellers from Amazon.com (USA) tend to be about 7-10 days. So it is nice to see I'm not alone, as I wondered why my DVD hadn't arrived lol.

To be fair, that's not really any indication as to Amazon.ca's delivery if it's a seller you've been waiting on, but it does sound like it's been a while!

30-40 weeks for standard delivery?

I could walk and swim there in that timescale. I could probably get back too, with the disc in my possession, lol.

Yeah, that was what I thought too, but I guess it just shows the time you can wait ordering from the Canadian site in general, which I dont think I have had with any US.COM Marketplace. As when I order from USA/CA it is generally from the marketplace section. When I order from DE/FR it is Amazon direct, and they are as fast as lightning

these times are from Amazon, not a marketplace seller

Fancy a mission then? lol

Think I'll wait to see what amazon say and might try ordering it, see how long it takes. I suppose if it does take forever I can always cancel if it takes too long.

thanks guys

It might be worth mentioning here that axelmusic.com is based in Canada and nearly all Canadian BD's you could want from Amazon.ca are available there at decent prices, and not too bad delivery times.
