Amazon Now Offering Release Day Delivery - Blu-ray Forum

This is great news. They've now added a 2-day shipping option to get the title on release day. I'm a prime member, so this may only be offered to those customers. The option is available on Wizard of Oz, Angels and Demons, Up, Taking of Pelham 123, and others. It isn't being offered yet on Transformers 2.

so they are shipping movies out early so u get them in the mail the same day they are released??

rather than shipping them out on release day and you get them 2 days later.

As an Amazon Prime member, most of my pre-orders are shipped from a warehouse within 150 miles and I actually receive them on street day.

They are never shipped after street date.

This is a nice first step, but this should include all movies, not just a select few.

May be select areas. I almost always get mine two days after release, though these days I rarely pre-order from them.

I've had this for while now. Most of my BD orders are shipped out of Sparks, NV the day before the release and gets to me by the next day.

Just checked all of mine. Due to some GoldBox pricing, I actually have 3 pre-ordered right now. None of them are "Release Day". I'm a Prime member.

This might be rolling out to more places nationwide, but here in TN this has been the norm from Amazon for several years now.

I can't recall the last time I didn't get a book, game, CD or movie on release day.

Online at Bestbuy.com and received them on Tuesday with free shipping.

Girl Next Door

Overstock.com and received it Tuesday with free shipping.

Am I the only one who's at shock this hasn't been happening before?

In an interesting turn of events, Amazon shipped 2 of next Tuesdays new releases (TCM 2003 and Snakes On A Plane) to me today and I received them today (they shipped via A-1 Courier service). Amazon usually ships new releases on Monday. Anybody else? I hope this is a new trend.

I've noticed another change to their shipping. Normally, if you are a prime member and order on Thursday, they have a Saturday option and would charge $6.99 for delivery. Now they are offering the usual 2-day free option even if Saturday is the delivery day.

Is this happening to anyone else that tries to order on Saturday? These screen shots were taken just a few minutes ago. I used to have no problem ordering on Saturday and still getting my stuff Tuesday, just as the listing says. But lately, the delivery date is different. Granted, it's only 1 extra day that I would get movies, but as you can see, they're still offering up the guarantee of release day delivery on Saturdays.
