Default Question about "The Big Bang Theory"

Hey everyone, does anyone have any idea if they will re-release the first season of The Big Bang Theory on blu-ray?

don't hold your breath on any comedies like this, such as How I Met Your Mother, etc.

tv releases are so up in the air that I have no problem buying the dvds.

big bang theory is great, but doesn't make much sense for a blu ray release to be honest

Somewhat related, my Dad thinks that it's hilarious that a show called "Big Bang Theory" is followed by "How I Met Your Mother".

I'm not buying the DVDs of a show shown in high def. No Blu, no sale. I'll wait.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, then I saw season one during boxing week for $19.99 so I figure what the hell, but if they ever release it on Blu-ray, I am so grabbing that!

I dont think we'll get a Blu release of it either, but I also will not buy the DVDs. if it airs in hi def, I dont want to watch it any other way. Pointless for me to buy the DVDs. Hopefully companies realize this too.

i don't get that. if you like the show, it's going to be just as funny on dvd as blu ray.

now, when it comes to movies, i am replacing them all, including comedies as they come out. but tv on dvd is not as sure as movies are, and i'm not gonna wait 2 years when i want to enjoy the show and all its hilarity now! my two cents

You can watch a show without having to buy it. Either by renting the DVD's or actually watching it when it appears on TV.

I don't see the point of actually spending the money to buy DVD's anymore. When a Blu-ray version can be announced at any time.

I have it on dvd and am quite happy with it. I dont see me buying too many shows on blu. I have tons of them now and dont really feel the need to replace them. I would rather replace movies then tv shows.

But as for Big Bang...its just a funny show. Its sad I can relate to some of it.
Go buy it!

I second that. I just hope that when and if this sitcom, and every other quality sitcom, get released on Blu-Ray, that they don't suffer the same pathetic treatment as sitcoms on DVD, which are insanely compressed to save on discs and they look like crap on anything that is not a 9" tube TV.

Same here.

I am a HUGE TV on DVD fan (I have over 100 sets) and I stopped buying DVDs for HD shows long ago. I have the first season of Housewives but stopped buying after that - I just won't until the full, HD versions are available.

Even if it takes years, I'm willing to wait - I'm just not investing in SD anymore unless it's original SD content that won't/can't be released in HD.

If the show airs in HD, I refuse to buy it in SD. Regardless of the show. Thats the same with Anime. (things are looking good for my wallet as far as Anime goes!)

My brother is a big fan of this show, he bought the first 2 seasons on DVD. I had a chance to watched in my Sony 360 and my Samsung, for DVD they look very very good IMO. The show is funny as heck too

I am a fan of this show and I only started watching it last season, but I would rather get it on DVD than wait for Blu. I love Blu but I can't see myself buying an TV series on Blu because of two reasons... the cost and is there really going to be that much of a difference?
