Default Evil Dead 2 is just pure awesome.

So I picked up Dawn of the Dead(One of my top 10 favorite movies), Day of the Dead and Evil Dead 2. I just have to say... I forgot how freaking awesome Evil Dead 2 is. I can't get enough of this movie. It's just so hilarious and disgusting at the same time, and so damn crazy. Anyone who doesn't get freaked out by blood and body parts and what not really needs to give this movie a try. If you have a relaxed sense of humor you will be sitting there the entire time in tears.

Evil Dead 2 is a dark comedy. Very Unique and one hell of a ride! Great Movie! If the local BB and CC had it yesterday, I would be able to enjoy it now as well. No Day or Dawn of the Dead movies were available either. Looking forward to seeing these on blu!

I still need to pick this up. It is hilarious that Sam Raimi and Peter Jackson started out doing indie B horror. I am pretty sure Jackson's Dead Alive is the goriest move ever made (more in a humorous way).

Anyway, ED2 is a classic. Anyone with a good (and somewhat odd) sense of humor should like this movie. Army of Darkness is great too but more a straight forward comedy. ED2 is worth it alone for Bruce Campbells one-liners. Classics..

I would have to assume most movie fans on here have seen it though it is a pretty popular movie for not being a blockbuster/mainstream movie. In all of its goofyness it is still a very well made film and gets a lot of respect.

It seems Universal ownes the right to the hi-def release of Army. That's why it's
on HD DVD and not Blu-ray.

So, do a review of this movie for everyone on this site. A good critique of PQ, SQ and so forth. I'm trying to encourage members to add their reviews to help others decide and get excited (or not) about buying a particular BD movie. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll get mine when the lame ass BB and CC get around to ordering more than 1 copy of new releases on blu Tuesdays.

Oh crap I was affraid somebody would say that. I never saw evil dead 2 is better or worse or same as army of darkness. I can wait for that to get to blu but I know I have copies of evil dead 2 at my job.

Personally, I prefer Evil Dead 2. Army of darkness to me gets to be far too silly for my tastes. The Evil Dead is a true scary ass movie. Dead 2 is unique in that it's still a creepy movie, but great one liners (tongue in cheek) were added along with over the top everything. Makes an interesting blend of very dark comedy only more on the horror side.

I can't really write a review except for the content of the actual movie. At some point grading picture and sound quality is like tasting fine wine. I can appreciate the fact that I'm drinking a 200 dollar bottle but I don't have the fine tastes to tell you what I'm drinking without help. I can tell the difference between blu-ray and that Casino Royale and Pirates look amazing, but I can't really distinguish the different levels of visual and audio in most movies unless they're outstanding or horrible.

I can rate a script, acting, direction, music, ext... but most people have seen these movies, just wanna know about the transfer.

I appreciate your candor. Refreshing, honest, true and guess what? Thats all you really need to write a review. I add reviews with every BD purchase. I'm no expert and I get bored listening to pros spit out technical jargen, stats, etc. I do enjoy reviews from everyday joes like you and me. Remember, its your opinion. The individual reading the review always has to make a determination on a purchase. When you get 3 or more reviews stating the same thing about PQ, SP, you can usually find that it is consistant enough to make a more informed decision on whether to purchase or not. And besides all that, Its FUN!!!

This wasn't on my radar because I assumed it would have less than great picture quality, but from the 3 reviews I've read it's much improved over the DVD. Now I want it! Too bad they didn't come up with a new and better cover, I never liked this one.
