Default Why no Evil Dead?

Why is there no Evil dead part 1? I recieved my Evil Dead II copy today and wondered why there no part 1 on blu ray?

Why does studio release second part without first part released on blu ray? They should release both if they had plan for II to be on blu ray.

it doesnt make any sense

It depends on a host of things. Such as the source of the film may not be in the best of shape and will take much longer to remaster, or the studio doesn't think it will sell that well right now, or the studio only owns the rights to one or the other but not both. The list can go on and on. Over time they will make release.

Im sure Evil Dead 1 and 2 had same quality before transfer to blu ray (both are old movies)

Email Starz/Anchor Bay and ask them what's up.

Wow...didn't know any more people on this forum would love Evil Dead. It's so popular...

Well, I'm basically in love with both movies, and they need to hurry up and release it already. It won't have the best PQ since even the source master doesn't, but still want it in high def.

Its been a long time since i saw that movie and i ordered it yesterday. Was little disapointed that no evil dead 1 was available on blu. I guess ill have go to blockbuster and rent the first one beforei see 2nd one on blu -ray.

But its ash man c'mon. I have my BOOMSTICK. I love those movies.

When I watched my Evil Dead DVD upscaled it looked terrible. Incredibly grainy, spotty and dirty, hard to make some things out. Evil Dead 2, however, looks really quite good on DVD, and I own a crappy one disc edition with no special features.

Interesting because I have a good THX copy and it still looked pretty bad and this was upscaled thru a REON.

It's been a few years since I've emailed them, but they normally do write back.

"Hi. I'm a huge movie, DVD and Blu-ray fan. Wondering when or if you'll release the original The Evil Dead on Blu-ray? cheers."

the simple answear to your question is that a 50 gig blu ray can barely handle bruce's chin i trid to play army of darkness on hd dvd and as soon as the chin hit the screen that 25 gig disk burst into flames im amazed evil dead 2 could handle it i guess thats proof there that blu ray is better.

I'm all for this, and hopefully we get the full package. I think I have 3 copies of each film as is. Would be nice to whittle it down.

Although I'm keeping my latex "Book Of the Dead' editions for 1 and 2. Those are too good to part with ever.
