Default Panasonic LIFI 56" lcd tv??

hi, anyone have any reviews on this tv yet? i did a search and saw none. this tv is on sale at sears for $1399 and you get another $250 off with sears card. getting a 56" 1080p lcd rear projection for only $1150 is unheard of.

any thoughts or comments on this tv from anyone? owners or researchers?

thanks

Default panny info

Here is some info from the panny site

PT-56LCZ70
56" Class (55.6" Diagonal) LIFI™ Projection HDTV with 1080p Resolution, Built-In SD Card Slot, 3 HDMI Ports and EZ Sync™

Brilliantly Innovative
Introducing the world's first consumer television with the innovative LIFI™ light source. LIFI stands for LIght FIdelity. This is a brand-new way to achieve long light source life, quick start-up time and high color fidelity for projection displays. Unlike conventional LCD projection TVs, the LIFI light source lasts so long it might never need to be changed. The High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps used in conventional LCD projection TVs contain electrodes that deteriorate, causing diminished brightness and possible damage to the lamp itself. LIFI does not utilize electrodes, which helps achieve more stable performance and a long lifespan.

Amazingly Vivid Color Reproduction
The light source in Panasonic LIFI HDTVs offers full spectrum illumination that faithfully reproduces brilliant red, emerald green and natural skin tones. Whether you're watching hidden camera footage of rare Amazon Forest dwellers or taking in the local newscast, the lifelike color is a bright, beautiful enhancement to your HDTV experience. The 1080p1 HD display capability provides twice the number of pixels as 720p HDTV displays for superior detail and extraordinary HDTV reproduction.

Advanced High Performance
The LIFI lamp is an advancement in technology that offers advantages that you can see and hear — or not, in the case of scintillation noise. HID lamps generate noise, especially at high brightness levels. You won't hear the hum with the LIFI because it operates at lower wavelengths. Plus, because the small LIFI bulb heats up quickly when you power up, the start-up time of the HDTV is as low as 10 seconds. Once your HDTV is ready to watch, there's no flicker, as with some LCD TVs.

Modern Design to Augment Your Experience
Everything about the LIFI HDTV is designed to bring you to a new level of viewing pleasure. The amazing colors are boosted by the floating feeling provided by the flat panel design, and the audio is rendered more lifelike by the invisible speakers that help fuse picture and sound. The all-black design adds a sleek, modern and luxurious look to your room.

A Single Cable for High-Quality Hook-Up
If you have even a moderately complicated home theater setup, you probably have a pile of tangled cables on the floor behind it. Imagine replacing all those wireswith a single cable that carries both digital video and audio at the same time. With the new HDMI standard, that's exactly what you get. The HDMI connector on this TV accepts high-quality digital video and audio via the same thin cable, allowing you to run one cable from the source to the TV.

Receive Over-the-Air HDTV Broadcasts
Sports, movies and original network programming are all available in high definition from many local broadcasters. Receive and view local over-the-air broadcasts on this TV in stunning HD clarity using the built-in HDTV tuner2. If your cable company passes through HDTV broadcasts from local broadcasters, you can decode and tune those as well.

Share Digital Photos with Photo Viewer
The best images you can ever view on a Panasonic projection TV don't have anything to do with HDTV. Share your JPEG photos taken with a Lumix® digital camera using the built-in SD card slot3. Simply insert the SD card, which is about the size of a postage stamp, into the SD slot on the TV and enjoy a photo slideshow.

Turn Your Living Room into a Gallery
GalleryPlayer® allows you to enjoy the world's finest high definition art and photography on your Panasonic HD LIFI TV. Use the free GalleryPlayer® software to purchase and download the images you like, and then play them on your Panasonic HDTV right from your PC. Sign-up is easy and free. Plus, you get a free collection of high definition images to enjoy right away in your home or office.

i can. and please take this a lil seriously. Ive had the opportunity notonly to carry it, sell it, see it everyday, but ive attended a specialized panny trainingsessions for a few days about their technology, their patents, etc.

Basically lifi. Its a nice idea... but thats idea.

they used lcd projection to stay on the low end of price, but did nothing to enchance the motion so its quite blurry for sports and moving objects.

Also while the lifi light source is a nice object and warrantied for 5 years, its not nearly bright enough. Give them a few years and they'll brighten it up. Also hopefully utilize a diff technology or add 120hz motion to everything.

so honestly ive sold one because someone wanted it. but i def dont recommend it normally. Itell people its a good idea but give panasonic some time to mature it.

Default Panasonic Lifi 56 in Projection TV

I've got this TV, bought it at Sears. It blows my mind; friends are impressed, 12-year-old daughter and friends are hooked. HiDef 1080p, HDMI connections to cable box and DVD give a great picture. Also we hooked it up to the family computer by SVGA, so the kids use if for mega game play.

Huge screen, really bright, great color, good sound. Price can't be beat, picture can't be beat. Fairly light weight (70 lbs) so we can actually move it from living room to family room when we need to.
