Default Dave Matthews & Time Reynolds @ Radio City Music Hall

It has been announced that they will be making a dvd of this 2007 show from Radio City Music Hall, NYC. It will be available for preorder on thier website in the upcoming weeks/months. I know they were HD cameras filming the show because I was there. Does anyone know if this will be coming out on blu ray. Has anyone heard anything.

There arent many live concerts available on Blu-Ray. I would love to see some!

The Central Park show was recorded in HD and is owned by SonyBMG.
I was about 30ft in front of Boyd for that show.

The DVD-Video has a stereo 24/48 PCM track on it, so I look forward to Sony BMG releasing this show with either a 24/48 PCM 5.1 track or even 24/96 PCM 5.1 track.

I didn't know there was an official announcement for the Dave and Tim show being put out on DVD. SonyBMG would be wise to do a day and date DVD/Blu-ray release for that one. Not too many fanbases as rabid as DMB's.

I'm only able to go to one show this year in Pittsburgh due to the shortened tour and no two nighter at SPAC, making 33 shows overall since November 17th, 1998 in Toronto.

Since this will be from SonyBMG, I'm hoping they pull out all the stops and use 24/96 LPCM like with the Chris Botti concert

Pearl Jam shot part of their Italian tour in hi def last September. Has anyone heard of a release to Blu for this? I was at all five shows and they were some of the best shows I have ever seen.

Personally, as far as High Def music goes, I'd love to get some Queen. Or Gorillaz. U2 and Sting and David Bowie too!

Default Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live at Radio City leaves HD-DVD dreaming

Quote:
"As much as I love what the Blu-ray movies, its potential with concerts
almost gets me even more excited. And this one is
more my speed."

"The high def photography is well cared for by a VC-1 encoding that pushes bitrates higher than Microsoft has
claimed to be sufficient with HD DVD, accommodated by 50GBs of space. Based on the PS3s internal clock,
the variable bitrate hovered in the neighborhood of 20 mbps, sometimes higher, sometimes lower"
"This concert was shot using nine HD cameras. And the
photography looks the part, more consistent with digital cameras than film in contrast and texture. The
footage from the cameras on stage looks absolutely terrific - often, as crisp as Destiny’s Child looked on Bluray."

MY quote and NOT CHAD review:

A real example is DEJA-VU and THE QUEEN using higher bit rate VC-1 ,just to inform HD-DUD fans who still believes in a losing format called HD-DUD.
So you should admit and confess that BD is better than yours.

Audio:

Quote from the site,

"Blu-ray has been taking our speakers to places they’ve never reached from DVD or HD DVD for that matter,
for over of a year. And despite an unusually long runtime, this concert doesn’t have to skimp on the sound.
In fact it pushes past even what Sony Pictures has done with up to 20bit/48kHz TrueHD and Disney has with
up to 24 bit/48kHz PCM. The concert does include a 24 bit/48kHz PCM stereo track and the usual 640kbps
DD 5.1. But what’s really exciting is the inclusion of 24bit/96kHz TrueHD."

My Quote:
SO MY BLU-RAY FANS what we can expect from here and on Spiderman Trilogy releases this coming October will be 24bit/48khz ,Let's not Forget mostly releases done so far by BUENA VISTA or Disney.

AND STILL CAN I HEAR HD-DUD telling me they have a better format!

I agree. This Blu-ray is a must have if you like Dave's music at all.

This one has me seriously thinking it is time to upgrade my receiver.
