Are 'Shadow of a Doubt' and 'Saboteur' Amazon exclusives?? - Blu-ray Forum

Amazon seems to be the ONLY place to even have these listed for sale....not on best buys website, walmart, barnes and noble, deep discount, etc.

Anyone know the story on this?

I got Shadow of a Doubt through Amazon a few weeks ago. I guess they had a few titles out early or exclusive. Who knows?

I wish I had pre-ordered it. I didn't want to shell out all that money for the masterpiece collection because I only wanted less than half the films, but Shadow was the one I was looking forward to coming out in a single edition. Anyone know what the deal is?

How in the world can this film have a release day of June 4th, and yet not be available ANYWHERE????

And what's worse is that no one has any idea why.

I pre-ordered SABOTEUR as a single from Amazon, and received it without difficulty. I haven't seen any of the Hitchcock Blu-ray singles in my local independent brick and mortar store.

It's not even available on Amazon anymore. Since I could not find it anywhere else I decided to go there. It says it is not in stock and they do not know when it will be in stock. Did Universal pull it for some reason?

Unless a regular retailer like Best Buy, Target, or Walmart were getting any of the individual Hitchcock releases exclusively, there's a 99.9% chance these weren't going to be available anywhere but online anyways.

So glad I picked this up a month ago when it first hit Amazon. Shadow of a Doubt that is. Sucks it isn't available individually anymore. One of Hitchcocks best.

I'm sure it will be available to order again at some point.

The whole Masterpiece Collection besides the 5 films in The Essentials Collection are all officially being released at some point. There was an advertisement for them inside The Essentials Collection (no dates listed).

Ok, this has been very complicated. I have been trying to track down the single disc edition on Blu-ray since Amazon.com said they had it in early May.

Can you please tell me WHEN you purchased this? Was it in May? It was on my Wishlist all of May. When I went to order in early June, that is when Amazon said they were all out and not sure when or if they would get more.

There aren't copies anywhere online for sale that I can find.

GREAT question. I have been all over online trying to track this down. Amazon had it up in May for $16.99 supposedly in-stock. By early June, totally gone.

Then bluray.com says it's got released June 4th... that's definitely not right. And another website now says July 2. (MovieHouseMemories)

I emailed Universal to specifically try to get to the bottom of this. They emailed me back and basically said, "We have no idea when it will be released."

All very confusing.
