Default The BDA and the Toshiba

I had some time at work today, and felt inspired
Hope you enjoy !

Once upon a time there was a Toshiba who, boasting how it could make cheaper players than anyone else, was forever teasing Blu-Ray for its pricing. Then, one day, the irate Blu-Ray answered back: “Who do you think you are? There’s no denying you’re cheap, but even you can be beaten on units sold!” The Toshiba squealed with laughter and FUD all around.
“Beaten in a sale contest? By whom? Not you and your higher prices surely! I bet there’s nobody in the world that can outsell me, I’m so cheap. Now, why don’t you try, BDA?”
Annoyed by such bragging and FUD, the BDA accepted the challenge. A Sale race was set by Warner and other studios, and the next year they stood at the starting line of the Nielsen charts. The Toshiba yawned sleepily as the BDA trudged slowly off with higher prices touting its higher capacity and technical advance. When the Toshiba saw how amazingly dependant on the PS3 his rival was, he decided, half asleep on its DVD forum, to have a quick price drop.
“Take your time!” The Toshiba said. “I’ll have a wee bit Firesale here and catch up with you in a month!”
The Toshiba woke from a blurry haze induced by its lower bandwidth and self content brought by a deal with Microsoft, and looked for the BDA. But the consortium was only a short distance away if compared to DVD sales, having barely covered a few months worth of Disc sales dominance.
Breathing a sigh of relief knowing that Paramount and Dreamworks had been bought out, The Toshiba decided he might as well have a Fire sale at Wallmart to empty the stocks, and so he went and also had a cheap black Friday sale, in a nearby field. But the heavy sales of Transformers with the cheap deals proposed made his eyelids droop.
With a careless glance at the BDA, now halfway along the Nielsen charts, it decided to have another snooze sale before flashing past the format war winning post. And smiling at the thought of the look on the BDA member’s faces when it saw just how cheap the Toshiba was, it fell fast asleep in self content and was soon publishing more FUD and reports of early victory. The perceived quality of Toshiba started to sink, below the horizon, and the BDA, who had been selling its way up toward the format winning since early 07, was scarcely a few 40gb PS3’s from the finish.
At that very point, the Toshiba thrashed with another Fire Sale, and away it gave its players. It dumped, bundled, and at a great rate discounted, its partners Xboxing, and gasping for more attachment rate. Just a little more discs and unit sold and it’d be at the finish!
But the Tohiba was just too ill conceived and not Next Gen enough, for the BDA had beaten it to the winning post.
Poor Toshiba electronics! Its funds exhausted and in digrace, it slumped a few more sales while its format was dying, and got in talk with the BDA, who was silently smiling at it, about joining them.
“Slow , Quality and Steady does it every time!” the BDA said.

Now that they come out and some something along the lines of no more mr nice guy, BDA is going to stop playing around and make HD-DVD and it's fanboy's cry! All Toshiba can do is lower it's price and hope the consumers are idiots...
