Default The BDA and the PS3

From what I have read so far, it seems that FOX is concerned with piracy/security issues when it comes to physical media, Disney's goal is to provide the consumer the best possible HD experiece, and Sony's is to lead the next generation physical media with its technology (Blu-Ray) along with the financial benefits it will acquire for many years to come. My question is, when the Blu-Ray exclusive studios announce their support for our format, did they mention anything about sales of the PS3 if that was also a factor on basing their decision(s) regarding perhaps installed software base, etc? I am sure everyone here would agree that our hardware stand-alone sales are less than HD-DVD's, but did these exclusive studios consider the PS3 as a determining factor or not? Anyone want to shed some light on this? Thanks.

Nothing certain to prove this, but I do believe that the continued software sales ratio of 2:1 has made them open their eyes to the consideration. There is no way that they can ignore the PS3 anymore after almost a full year of Blu-ray dominating film sales. I would estimate that they DIDN'T consider the PS3 up until about October. Now, Toshiba is the only company on the planet that will not count the PS3 as Blu-ray player sales.... unless they are throwing attach rate numbers around! In that case, they can tout a substantially larger percentage than Blu-ray. Why? Because they are evil nazi eskimo pie slinger gnomes who want the whole world at their fingertips, and will lie their faces off to get it!
