This movie is fantastic. I just got my blu copy in the mail yesterday and I watched it tonight. Wow, I loved it. One of the best movies of that genre.

Just received my copy with five other titles.

Can't wait to see it if its as good as you say.

I just watched this also on Blu the other night, excellent picture quality overall. A must-have for any gangster-movie fans!

Goodfellas and Donnie Brasco are two of the best mob movies representing the modern era of the maffia. It is an excellent, well directed movie with wonderful performances by a very good cast. I highly recommend it.

Ten years is hardly old if the film is stored properly. If the film is in good condition, you can get a good transfer. There's an excellent look at the restoration of "Gone With The Wind" on the movie's 4-disc DVD set. That would be a great title for Blu-ray.

The theater cut is a possibility based on Replacement Killers having the extended release from Sony, and then the theater from MC (despite using the same artwork saying it's the extended). Other than that, MC doesn't have a great record for extras, usually drops them all. In fairness, most extra drops were on double feature discs, but look at all the stuff that was on Hostel 1 & 2 from Sony, then the MC double had nothing.

Will double dip if it's the theatrical cut.. Otherwise don't see the point of re-releasing it. The first release has very good picture quality. Unless there are a lot of new extras.

BTW, blu-ray.com's review score of 0.5 for the extras on the first Donnie Brasco release is RIDICULOUS! A 24 minute featurette, a 7 minute featurette and a 3 minute photo gallery surely deserves no less than 2.0. I've seen 1.0 given for releases with nothing but a trailer. Joe Kidd for example.

Great movie. Lefty is one of my favorite characters. When I first saw it I thought it was going to be more of a serious gangster movie. There were a lot of scenes that were hilarious.

Lefty: Punch of salt.
Donnie Brasco: Punch?
Lefty: Punch. Punch of salt.
Donnie Brasco: Punch or pinch?
Lefty: Punch, punch. Not pinch. What'd I say? I say pinch?
Donnie Brasco: Nah, you said... you said punch.
Lefty: Sometimes you don't make no ****in' sense, Donnie.
