Default Just an idea

I'm sure someone has already thought about this idea but I would why it not has been implemented yet.

Here is the idea:

In order to promote the HD version of a movie, why don't movie studios such as Sony, Disney, Fox, ..., etc release the Blu-ray version one or two weeks before the DVD version? By doing that, they would be promoting Blu-ray over DVD and increase the awarness of HD to normal folks. It would also be a bonus to early adopters who would be able to get the copie a movie in HD before it is made available in DVD. I'm sure this would sway people to adopt Blu-ray over DVD.

Just an idea... Any thought?

I like it... it might make people go "why is this Blu-ray format getting attention before regular DVD" and they'll research BD and find out how awesome it is. Could work...

Great idea...However this would be making a pristine coopy available to all before the DVD was released. Pirates would just love this.

It does not have to be 1 or 2 weeks. Just a few days...

Yes, dozens of people have had this idea.

It's not going to happen. All advertising is centered around a single week, and that's not going to change.
