This is a review somebody has left on the website for the Sony BDPS300B Blu-ray player. It was posted after somebody else had posted a review and given it 5 stars. Also note that this review is dated December 3rd.
"Just reading the review given to this product. While I agree that for those who are just steping out into the vast desert that awaits them, I do not agree with the the result. Its not that I am pro this and anti that, not at all. I myself waited and waited until in the end I thought the only answer is both. I have a Xbox elite and ps3. More importantly I have a Toshiba E1 and a BDP-1000. The E1 wins in so many ways. They inform you when there is an uprgrade to download, it is easier to upgrade, the disc lay out is a lot easier to use and the interface a lot clearer. People will say there are more films on blu-ray but that is because they have a larger back catalouge. When it comes to independent film companies hd wins that one as well (Paramount has anounced HD only ). If after this you still are unsure think about these 2 points 1: HD films are available from anywhere in the world to play in any machine with any region, thus keeping the price down some what. Blu-ray is region coded and because of which prices I have seen can be as much as £34.99. Not good people. 2: Every time I put a hd disc in my E1 I sit down and enjoy a film. How ever on 3, yes 3, occasions I have put a film into my Blu-ray and the film gets rejected, with the BDP-1000 saying not compatible. These are not small films from small companies either, Spiderman 3, Curse of the Black Pearl and Rise of the Silver Surfer. All meant I had to go on line and get a firmware patch (RotSS has only just become available and still takes about 3 mins to load). The BDP series may look good and have a Sony stamp but beware. They are hard work and frustrating. In the end the choice is yours and these are just my experiances, just be careful and please until Blu-ray bucks its ideas up think HD." Doesn't matter where you go, the HD-DVD FUDsters can be found. This review 4 out of 4 people agreed with it ![]() In my experience all Sony products I've used have been very easy to use ,though I've never used this player (I have my trusty PS3). Makes me sad ![]() |
