Evil Dead 1 & Army of Darkness - Blu-ray Forum

Seeing Evil Dead 2 and Drag Me to Hell have made me want to see these two, any idea when they're coming to blu-ray?

Army Of Darkness was announced for May, but then postponed. Many speculated that Universal is holding it back so they can release it when Drag Me To Hell comes to Blu.

As for the original, that's Starz/Anchor Bay's call. It's probably going to need a serious remastering job for a Blu release.

What's wrong with Evil Dead 1? Not to mention I WAS considering getting it cheaply on DVD for now but if the DVD version is that bad I won't.

Well, considering its age and budget, the DVD isn't bad. But it will need some cleaning up for a Blu release.

I want to see Ash on Blu-Ray use his Boomstick; even though that did not sound right lol....

They already remastered it, just 2 years ago for the Ultimate Edition DVD. I don't really see what more they need to do other than put the HD transfer on a disc and port the extras.

well Army of Darkness is being released September 15th, but I have no idea about Evil Dead. I love the Evil Dead movies but i just never have taken the effort to go out and buy them. Then when I heard they were coming on Blu-ray i decided that it was time to start. I just bought Evil Dead II today because I saw it at Walmart for $10 and thought it was a good deal.
