Phenomenal news...and as someone who owns the DVD, I strongly urge viewers to give a listen to that informative and fun commentary from 2005 if they've not heard it.

I love '50s sci-fi; here's hoping Criterion does indeed have THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN as many have speculated.

Looks like it's got some bonus features not on the Australian release and vice versa, so I'll be getting both, because I have issues.

This is great news. Looks to be an awesome release. Still, it’s too bad Criterion still isn’t doing 4K discs. The new audio looks interesting. I can see Burtt getting pretty aggressive with the mix and totally overdoing it though. Did anyone ever hear if there was a reason he didn’t work of the three new Star Wars films?

I don't have any Criterion titles. Does Amazon do pre-orders for Criterion? This is so exciting.
This will complete my collection of my favorite 1950s science fiction movies. The Thing, The Day the Earth Stood Still, This island Earth and Forbidden Planet and there's always been a space on my shelf right in there for this!

I meant to grab This Island Earth during the last Target sale. Next time!
