Default Jumped into the war - kinda

Hi all,

I've been reading here for a few months but just now registered after buying my first 3 blu-ray movies today. Unfortunately, I don't have a player yet but should be getting a PS3 in the next month or so. After reading what others have said after watching their blu-rays, I can't wait much longer to check it out for myself.

I've pulled for blu-ray ever since the two formats were announced. I was going to jump in earlier but the Paramount/Dreamworks fiasco slowed me down a bit. After seeing the sales data for the past couple of months, I feel blu-ray is still going to win eventually. Just feels good to be able to help some at ending this stupid war.

I got Big Fish, 50 First Dates (Amazon BOGO), Ratatouille and Pixar Short Films before I even had a player. I had to take advantage of the $10 off at the time

Now I have the Die Hard Collection and the wife got excited about the Dave Mathews Live BD concert so that is now in the works. And I still don't have a bd player . The PS3 is a xmas gift so I can't wait till then.

Why would you buy movies without a player?

It may not be too late to head to wal-mart and pick up a PS3 and 10 free movies depending on your area. Then you can watch those movies plus 10 more.

I know I'm buying things a little backwards but didn't want to pass up the deals on discs. Finances don't quite allow me to get a PS3 just yet. Also need to upgrade my TV and receiver but the older TV can still output 1080i. Hope that can keep me satisfied until I come up with the cash for a Sammy HL-T5687S, the 56" LED DLP model. Still need to research receivers. Also wanted to do what I could to show blu is the way to go during this holiday season.

There are many more BD titles on my wish list. It will be a long process trying to replace my library of over 200 DVDs for BDs. This is just the beginning.

What a great idea!

Lets try to get people who don't even own players to buy discs and we will win this format war for sure.

Lets see Toshiba work out them attach rate figures

I'm one of them too. I own 8 BD titles (plus 2 more is coming) without a player. I'm pround of myself for being a silent leader to make Blu-ray win the format war.
