It seems like the newer titles rely more heavily on Java which causes the majority of the delays in playback as the JIT has to read and compile the signed Java code, thus degrading the user experience on current consumer standalone boxes.
I personally do not see any benefit this provides to the presentation and hope the studios are more carefull with judicious use of the BD-Java API only when actually necessary and it also provides something tangible to the consumer (Please consider those of us trying to get the discs to playback in reasonable order.) I also would ask that the CE companies power these devices appropriately to process the code and provide a good user experience and FIX their damn implementations! It seems the BD-Java implementations are poor, or unoptimised and/or the players are way underpowered. If Java offers something really COMPELLING which is worth a 3 minute wait-OK, but for a simple presentation like POTC-AWE, there is no need and it detracts from the experience. Thank You |

its not that the code is bloated or that the players are underpowered but its becuase there so many player from so many diffrent manufactures that it has to run codes that its still early in development it will get better could i ask what player u have?

I fear the typical signs of java uses are showing through.
