Default New Receiver for PS3 ? (lossless audio)

I'm wanting to get a new AVR to get multi-channel lossless audio. I can't take it anymore. And I got a pretty good year-end bonus and was able to talk the wife into spending some of it. LOL

I love my PS3 so buying a different BDP is out of the question.

I'm looking at the Sony 4300ES (I'd do a link but I'm on the PS3 ) . Apparently it's HDMI 1.2. Is that a problem? AFAICT PCM tracks would go over the HDMI no problem and Dolby TrueHD tracks would be converted to PCM and go over the HDMI also.

DTS MA is pretty much the only thing I won't get right? Which with the PS3 we may not ever get that anyway, correct?

I don't see where it states it's HDMI 1.2. Looking on Sony's site: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921665192795

You sure about that? I would stick with HDMI 1.3 if possible. According to that page, it also decodes DTS HD Master Audio. Sweet deck.

Doh! Son of a .... I meant the 3300.

You're right, I don't think Sony's site says what HDMI ver. I'm getting that from Crutchfield which lists the 3300 as being 1.2a and the 4300 as 1.3.

Pretty much the only thing the 4300 adds over the 3300 is 1.3 and it's $300 more. So, so long as I can get the lossless audio I'd like to save $300.

All I can report is the my STR-DG810 does amazing 5.1 lossless pcm. Does core DTS @ 1.5Mb/s but does not do DTS HD Master Audio. However, the 4300 does DTSHD-MA. That's worth the $300 right there in this a/v guy's opinion.
