Default Blu-ray 3D looking picture functionality

Hey all, and I know I may be beating a dead horse when I ask my question, sorry for my ignorance.

I have been in search of that 3D, live-looking feel of Blu-ray that I constantly see in Circuit City or Best Buy, At first I was nieve in thinking it was just 1080p, then I found out that TVs look much better when it is 24p capable, now I finally have narrowed it down to being the 120Hz frame rate. So my real question now is, am I right in saying that the reason all of those movies in CC are playing in that sort of quality is due to the fact that the TV they play on is 120Hz motion-whatever? I love the look of the movie when its 3Dish and is so technologically enhanced to my standards.

I started 2 weeks ago with a 42" Panasonic Plasma, top of the line; then a few days ago I returned it for a 40" Sony Bravia LCD, and finally have found the one for me, 40" Samsung LCD outputting 120Hz frame rate. Once I saw Blu-ray, I was hooked! Again, thanks for any help and barring with my ignorance on the subject.

Third times a charm!!
