This will be the first time Mothra III has been available in North America on home video; only the first two Rebirth of Mothra movies made it to DVD.

Very much looking forward to picking these up, it'll be nice having all three Rebirth of Mothra movies on home video finally (even though they're geared towards a younger audience). I was going to break out my DVD of the first 2 movies to show my nephew, but now I think I'll wait for the blu.

Will Godzilla 2000 have the original Japanese cut? Hopefully subtitles this time instead of dubtitles.

Youre welcome KPA

I am very excited about this.. I just hope the PQ will look better than passable. I wasn't impressed with the first batch but I love the films anyway.. and more or less expect the same again here
Im getting them anyway - these should be the complete versions of the Godzilla movies.. and to finally get Rebirth of Mothra III - too sweet !!

I don't understand the disappointment with Sony's transfers. For the most part, these are lower-budget, early 90's films. Most movies from that era were shot on softer, grainier film-stock (just look at the Brosnan Bonds.)

That said, they are a night and day improvement over Toho's transfers. What more can you ask for?

If you read the article it says that it contains both versions. Also, there is a picture confirming.

The cover says both. Why did it merit a single release, while the others are all double features?

Nice to see that both the US and original Japanese cuts of Godzilla 2000 will be included on that release. As I'm not a big fan of the post-90's Godzilla flicks, these releases will save me a lot of money instead of buying the pricey Japanese BD imports (although I already have Godzilla GMK). I'm going to be blowing a lot of cash on all the remaining 50's - 70's Godzilla BDs coming out of Japan in a couple weeks.

Regarding the Mothra trilogy, I wonder how it's going to be divided between 1,2 or 3 discs. Hopefully Sony won't cram all 3 movies on one disc. As these are all budget releases like the last batch, I don't expect top notch transfers and encoding but unless there's major issues with audio or picture quality, I'll be satisfied.

I knew the Godzilla titles would get released eventually but I was doubting the Rebirth trilogy would happen. Thankfully they decided to release them. Can't freaking wait. Now if they would release the original Mothra and Classic Media would get off of their asses and release the rest of the Godzilla titles I'd be in heaven.

Because it is arguably the biggest of all the titles in America and the only title that they have that has 2 distinct cuts of the film.

If I had to guess 1 & 2 will be on the same disc with 3 getting it's own disc. We can hope for 3 discs though. I'm honestly just happy to be getting them with their original audio and finally having an official release of 3.

Exactly. It's also the only Toho Godzilla film that received a US theatrical release by Sony. All of the other movies went straight to video and/or TV here, so that makes G2000 a "bigger" title for Sony.

So why do lower budget 60s films from AIP look better than the first batch of Godzillas from Sony did ? I think some were on par or better than the Sony DVDs of the same title...but I wasnt overwhelmed.
I don't believe in lower budget movies not being able to look like something that was made yesterday. Anything can be done with a little time/effort and care. I don't expect perfection but I don't think asking for movies on a blu ray disc to look like blu ray quality is asking for too much is it
At the end of the day Im getting these even if its another mixed bag because they all should have higher resolution if anything..
