Default So who here works at BB/Magnoila?

It seems like everyday I read on here I see another BB employee and I know Mystik's (sp?) fiance (congrats) works at Magnolia.

I work at BB in Johnson City, TN in Home Theater

I honestly don't know how many people I've talked out of buying HD DVD players. Everytime someone is there with kids I'll ask the kids if they like Disney movies and as soon as they say 'yes' (they all do), I explain to the parents how HD DVD will never have a Disney movie. Works every time.

Which store do you all work at?

is there a big differance in a bbmagnolia to a regular one or is it just the actual high end electronics that they carry.....i guess what im getting at really is do you think they carry a different selection of blus then a regular store?

wow I posted in the wrong forum by accident, sorry MODS, you can move it if you wish.

Magnolia is the high end version of BB, the blu's will be the same but the TV's, recievers, furniture and such are a lot nicer. If we had a Magnolia here I'd rather work at it.

Default Live near corporate headquarters.

I don't work at Best buy, but I shop there an average of once a week. We live 10 minutes from the corporate office in Minnesota. It's a great looking campus. Better than that is the huge BB down the street. Bought my TV at Magnolia and refer everyone I know to buy major electronics from Best Buy. If there could only be two stores in the world, give me BB (with Magnolia) and Target (with groceries).
I bought Goodfellas today at BB for 14.99. Blu Hoo Ray. Also bought a cool Electrolux dishwasher, but the movie price made me happier.
Keep up the good work BB employees. No one offers assistance and service like BB.
What's with Circuit City? I feel like I'm slumming it when I go there.

My husband works at Best Buy, but it is not a Magnolia one. It is in Wooster Ohio. He argues everyday with other employees about how blu-ray is better. He works with a bunch of x-boxers though

It cracks me up at how xbots complain about how they have to pay for the online and stuff in the market place but then rally to M$ defense when posed with the argument of how the ps3 is a superior piece of hardware. I always tell them if HD-DVD is so much better why isn't there a HD-DVD drive in the elite?? Why does it seem as though M$ won't support the format outside of the software arena???
That usually shuts them up.

That's a good strategy.

I work in Media at a store in Texas (for privacy I'd like to keep a certain degree of anonymity). I'm really looking forward to the next dvd pull. Hopefully we can start flexing Blu over into the red section soon. Right now it's split even with three sections each. I may even try to start the transition this week by condensing HD-DVD if I can get approval. No sense pretending they have a chance anymore.

Find the planogram. Most stores dont have an even display. My store's media section go by plano and as such has way more blu space than hd.

I'm a merchandise supervisor in a South Florida BB.

The last shipment of high-def movies in was so lop-sided it was sad. We got 1 (yes ONE) copy of 300 (I think is what it was) for HD and a lot of Blu titles. I need to convince our media people to start 'misplacing' red stuff

this one employee at a magnolia store here in houston claimed a year ago HD DVD would win regardless becasue of the biggest porn contract signed for exclusive rights for HD DVD to be the sole content provider. He assured me bluray would lose. Plus bragged that "we at magnolia are highly trained professionals who know nothing but the highs and lows about home theater and technology"

boy was he an idiot and had no clue
