Default Getting Tired of seeing this...

http://newteevee.com/2008/01/11/holl...olescence-too/

First, it was all this FUD about how HD DVD isn't dead yet... now that it's all but dead, there are buttloads of articles discounting High Def Media in general. I don't understand the lines of thinking...

It's just the HD DVD fanboys, that have infested all forms of media, finally showing their true colours.

Don't worry too much about it. Their idiotic remarks will blow away and be forgotten in no time atall.

basically said, if 60 percent of people dont know there is a blu-ray drive, then the HdDVD format was ball punched by 40% of the possible market available.
Imagine if the whole 100% was there vs the 100% awareness of a hd dvd drive then sales would be what 5.1 or 6.1 and a neilson ratio of 85.15

That guy wrote his article of a bunch of hearsay, I find that hard to believe. I think its more like 5-10 % dont know what the blu-ray player is and their age realm is 6years old to 12 years old because they are there just for the games, nothing else.

for a more accurate survey, do that same survey first asking age group, then got onto whether they know what blu-ray is, I bet it would back up what I said

the guy is using data from a long time ago. before sony was advetising ps3 as a blu-ray drive or putting a free blu-ray in with the ps3. those numbrs are from august i think, but he wouldn't bother tellling us that.

and his comment about the ps3 selling bad compared to other consoles. it has outsold the 360 every week for over the past month wordwide and its doing it in pretty large numbers. last week it sold over 60k more units than the 360 did worldwide. blu-ray is not only getting huge in america but its getting huge in the rest of the world too. blu-ray is coming up really close to selling its 10 millionth disc.

The same set of people who were saying that one format has to win for mass adoption are now the same ones who are saying that either Sony shot themselves in the foot, or downloads are the wave of the future.

Unbelievable.

Another article by another writer who is pissed that his format of choice has been flushed down the toilet. Who cares.

That's because no thought went into the article and the article has no point. Its a mess of random thoughts. This guy needs retake Writing 101.

All of the talk about DD is sour grapes from HD dVD supporters or M$ allies. The retailers, CE manufacturers, 99% of the movie buying public, and the studios prefer HD optical media for an array of reason. Yeah, the FUD is annoying, but irrelevant.

He should've been at the Best Buy I was at today. Even my wife, of all people, couldn't help but notice the amount of people with either a blu ray in their hands or a PS3 with a few blu ray movies ready for purchase. Niche market my ass.

So.... you were so tied of seeing "this" that you felt you needed to give it more exposure and share with the rest of us? Misery loves company? Thanks for sharing.

Agree 100%! Please do not bring the FUD that we have worked so hard to eliminate back into our beloved blu-ray.com site. It's over. Let the last pangs of frustration belong to them and only them without polluting our site anymore. I'm starting to feel like I'm living in a 13 year old's garbage dump. (No offence to any 13 year olds). It's the older age set who should know better. Enough already.

Wagner James Au is now defending his article in the Comments section. When someone inquired when he got his data...

I felt the need to comment that Amazon has been selling the PS3 for less than $500 for months now.
