PS3 problem - Blu-ray Forum

My PS3 keeps freezing up while I am playing BDs I have checked and cleaned the disc, they are now pristine and it plays DVDs fine. Any help would be appreciated before I send it in to be repaired or replaced.

I've been hearing that even little things like finger prints will cause a few problems with play back. I always handle discs by the edges and never have had any problems.

in video settings you have to turn the 24Mhz option off

There was a couple but I cleaned them witha microfiber cloth and it also froze up on a brand new just opened BD.

The only time I've had mine freeze was when I was watching POC3 and switched my audio output from linear pcm to bitstream. Switched it back to lpcm and it worked fine.

It is set to linear pcm, but thanks for the pointer
