Question How long do you think until Uni/Para goes blu?

I just thought how long until either Para or Uni feels blu and goes blu. Give me your estimate until how long they do it.

If I had to take a guess.

If they're stubborn, it'll be about 2-6 months after June 1st.

When Blu-Ray starts destroying HD-DVD in sales figures for software.

If they truly believe that the war is over as some have claimed, then it might take 2-6 months from now.

All depends on how committed to Hd-DVD they are.

I'd say a good month.

2-3 months in the position they're in is just bad business.

Then again, they've been doing bad business for almost a year now...

I'd say 1 month because apparently universals contract with hd dvd ends and plus retailers are going to be putting a lot of pressure on them. Also hd dvd sales will be decreasing.

I'd say by month's end Paramount caves in, and Universal probably by the end of March.

The thing about it is that only one of them needs to decide to go blu and the other would follow as soon as possible. I don't think either will announce anything for several months, possibly until Warner is fully blu-exclusive in May. I'm sure plans have been made already but they will quietly prepare for going blu the next several months. Watch the insiders on this forum. They may already know stuff but due to NDAs might(should) be tight lipped. The less they say about the matter the better for Blu-ray.

I think they will go Blu around May. I hope they make their mind up sooner, but who knows how likely that is.

I'd say around March, this will give more time to decide, hopefully they make the right choice and save themselves a lot of money that they don't need lose.

We'll have them both by end of March. Paramount sooner than Universal...

No later than early February for both is my guess.

They might coordianate their announcements so one isn't left holding the red bag.

I say 1 month untill an announcement of some sort. Gives them time to see the effect of Warner's announcement on the software sales. Could be 2-3 months before any real Product is available.

<Looks into magic crystal 8-ball> Hmm, all says is, "The future is blu."

This is a tough call. Paramount has an "out", but they also have a bunch of money they don't want to pay back. They "MAY" be buying time.
