Default Kosty gone FUD mad, suggests either Panny, Pioneer or Philips to go dual @ CES

http://forums.highdefdigest.com/show...6&postcount=12

Quote:
I was told that two formally Blu-ray only CE companies at CEDIA in Sep said they had dual format players they had in development that they would announce at CES.

I met a prominent A/V writer from Secrets of Home Theater there who said he was told the same thing when he did media interviews with CE company officers and that the Paramount switch and low Blu-ray sales for their existing players were reasons for the change in dual format support.

Another hardware insider told me to think that the new dual format companies started with P and S. He was unsure if they would announce at CES, but that they had models in development.

Phillips and Sharp and Pioneer and Sanyo and Panasonic start with P & S.

A contact in a retailer manufacturers representative group told me Denon has a dual format player in development.

I have also heard the names Pioneer and Sharp mentioned. They happen to start with P & S.

At CEDIA I talked with some engineers from Panasonic who said they wanted to demo a Xbox 360 HD DVD add on with a HDTV at their booth but were told from corporate that was a nogo because they did not want to imply any support for HD DVD at that time at CEDIA and that Panasonic had contractual obligations thru Jan 1st not to publicly display any HD DVD items. After Jan 1st that could be allowed.

My guess at this time is Denon, Sharp and either Pioneer or Phillips have dual format players in development and will announce at CES those models. That will add on to a big dual format push from Samsung and LG who will announce price reductions and profile 2.0 Blu-ray and HD DVD TL51 support for their new players a CES. Thats pure speculation though on my part based on what I noted above.
How friggin' desperate is this shill?
  • Philips are the #1 developer of Blu-ray Disc technology.
  • Pioneer have the head position in the BDA.
  • Panasonic do all the AVC encodes for Fox and Disney and have BD replication facilities, authoring facilities and have gone out on the road with Disney to educate people regarding Blu-ray technology.
  • Sharp just announced three months ago that they intend to be the #1 manufacturer of Blu-ray players and they already have an all in one solution and a standalone player.

I can tell you that there is no way in hell you will see a Panasonic dual format player announced at CES and there is no way in hell you will see Panasonic hooking up a 360 add-on to their plasma sets. They are well aware of how much better Blu-ray is thanks to bandwidth over HD DVD and that's why they bothered to show 50 journalists a few weeks ago at Panasonic Hollywood Labs a 2k master being projected on a 100" screen split with the BD of Silver Surfer. Ask any of the 50 people in attendance if they were able to spot the difference.

This guy has gone from typical joker to outright liar. In three weeks you will see CES come and pass and Panasonic, Sharp, Pioneer and Philips will all still be Blu-ray exclusive CE companies.

You know I thought the shilling by people like rdjam, hmurchison and others was bad last year, but this year they have gone over the top. Don't they realise how much shit is going to be on their faces in three weeks?

Anyway, bookmark that thread, then bookmark my post, then someone who can post over there go ahead and copy this post in there and see who was right, Kosty or doby.
