Got a BDP-10A, thought I was getting a 30... - Blu-ray Forum

So after a bunch of problems with my Samsung 1200, BestBuy decided to give me a panasonic BDP-10A for a total of $299, which was $60 more than I paid for the Samsung 1200. I want to know, did I get a good deal by doing this? I thought for some reason I was getting a Panny bdp-30, but I got the 10. This was not their fault, in fact they went so out of their way to make me happy, I was just mis-informed.

So I just want to know, by getting a 10A, what did I get and is it worth $299?

well, what TV and Receiver are you using it with?

Panasonic DMP-BD10AK Specifications

It has internal decoding of Dolby TrueHD which is good, as well as 7.1 analog outs.

amazon.com has it for $500

so I guess $299 is not bad.

We have the Panasonic BDP-10 which is the older model and it works flawlessly.

They took it from $499 to $299, no way they would take another 20% off. This wasn't a price match, this was a customer service issue.

I guess I really just want to know, are there any better players that are at the $299 price range, better than the BD-10 I got from them?

Absoltuely not

The BD10A is a superb player

Nothing even close to it in price has the audio decoding it does for example. It'll do anything but the Master Audio layer of DTS HDMA
