Default Scream Factory to release Contamination.7, The Vampire, I Bury the Living more

Scream Factory

"Some of you back in the Fall may remember that we asked you to vote on some obscure titles we had existing rights on and if you wanted to see them come to the Blu-ray format. We’ve already announced a few that were on that list (WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH HELEN, THE VAGRANT and THE SCREAMING SKULL) but we’re happy to be able to confirm that we also have the following planned for Spring/Summer of 2017 as well:
INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS (1973)
THE VAMPIRE (1957)
CONTAMINATION. 7 (1993)
I BURY THE LIVING (1958)
THE NAKED CAGE (1986)
No confirmed street dates or website pre-order links have been assigned yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as they’re available
.
For fans of these cult films, Happy Holidays! And…there’s a possibility that there will be others on that list that will be coming soon as well."

Well at least one of the "Troll 3" films is getting a blu-ray.

Not sure when the other (the Ator sequel that happened to have one of the goblin costumes from Troll 2 reused for a character) will, though.

Invasion of the Bee Girls is the clear winner here.

Quest for the Delta Knights is supposedly also Troll 3 and from what I read, no one seems to know who actually owns the rights to it (the producers, maybe?). As a result, this has also held up plans for a release of the MST3K episode (though it is rumored to be a possibility for the next set, as it's not a Paramount, Toho, or Susan Hart title).

As for the announcements, I'm definitely interested in Invasion of the Bee Girls. It was written by Nicholas Meyer of Star Trek II, Star Trek VI, and The Seven-Per-Cent Solution fame (and it's an enjoyably crazy film).

Terrific news on I Bury the Living and Vampire, as I had assumed that both were on the back burner/scrapped with Screaming Skull and Angry Red Planet being the 50's poll-winners. As I've posted before, Living is a real gem, and easily the best thing Charles Band was ever involved in. I've seen the Bee Girls trailer a billion times (it's on seemingly every trailer comp in existence), but have yet to watch the film itself, though I am a big Anitra Ford fan. When I first discovered Messiah of Evil maybe 10 years ago, I was so captivated by her look and style that I had to look her up on IMDB immediately afterwards.

Still waiting for The Evil/Twice Dead and Grotesque BD upgrades. Battletruck would be great too. Out of this batch I may grab the tree movie

Roger Ebert would plug Invasion of the Bee Girls in random reviews for years.

Wouldn't expect any less from the screenwriter of Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls.

Never seen Invasion Of The Bee Girls, but after watching the trailer I really need to give it a watch and see if I need to buy it.

At least 'Ator' is remotely watchable. I've tried several times to watch "Contamination.7" and can never sit through it...

Someone needs to inform Scream Factory that MGM's transfer of INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS on their old Midnite Movies DVD was an edited print (missing some nudity). Scream seems to be unaware of such things (just like they reissued the cut version of COMEDY OF TERRORS) and just uses the same edited masters that are given to them instead of trying to restore the cut footage from another source. I have an uncut DVD of BEE GIRLS from Catcom, but I'm sure there are uncut 35mm prints out there that they could source the edited sequence from. I'm not on facebook so I can't relay this info.

More detailed info on the cut BEE GIRLS from imdb:

"The recent MGM DVD is missing footage. Part of the scene where Beverly Powers (Hills) seduces her man is missing, deleting some of her nudity. This may have been due to damaged materials used to create the DVD, as the scene is intact on the old VHS (and on a couple of budget DVDs that used the VHS for the source). The MGM version looks the best this low-budget film has ever looked, but the missing footage rankles. The same incomplete print runs on pay cable and MGM did not fix the problem and reissue the DVD."

------------------

Also, Shout! released the same edited version on their "Cult Movie Marathon" four-movie DVD, so unless they are informed it's edited and have a chance to fix it, this film will most likely be edited until the end of time. Since it is only one sequence that is cut, finding and restoring that footage shouldn't be super costly for them.

No they didn't, I just double checked my copy.
It's uncut, so no need to dash off an email to Shout.
