There’s probably a good chance that this will be an improvement over my Millennium Media Blu-Ray. I’m all in.

Oh, and that might be the best Scream Factory original artwork that I have ever seen.

"I like all Hammer films. If I singled this one out, it's not because I like it the best - it's a sadistic film, very difficult to watch - but because, here, they actually isolate the soul: a bright blue shining translucent ball. The implied metaphysics is close to something sublime." - Martin Scorsese on FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN.

As someone who missed the Millenium Blu, it's great to read that this is forthcoming. Always felt Hammer's Frankenstein series was the richest and most interesting of their output thematically...and Peter Cushing was always outstanding. He was far from likable as Dr. Frankenstein, but never less than compelling and fascinating to watch.

I think this is just very grainy stock, has a look more similar to Amicus films of this period unlike the other Hammers so I doubt it'll look much different. Lossless audio is a given this time though.

My least-favorite Hammer Frankenstein movie (and one of my least-favorite of theirs in general) but I'll still be getting this because it's Hammer and it's Peter Cushing, even if I feel he's kind of more a supporting player in this one.

Not too thrilled about the artwork, but I'm really excited this was announced since I missed out on the Millennium disc. Definite buy.

honestly don't care for this movie all that much. i dragged my ass on getting the last blu of it and never got it. for completions sake i'll breakdown and pick this one up when i get to it. it is very different but maybe to different for me. Peter is great as Frankenstein as always but the story etc does nothing for me (though Susan Denburg certainly does).

I have the Millennium Blu-ray but it's not a great source or transfer so fingers crossed SF gets this one right. The old Elite DVD was one that was notorious for disc rot. I've never seen a really impressive looking print on either home video or on any tv broadcast (including the HD broadcast on Turner Classics).

As for where it sits in the Hammer Frankenstein series, I think it's a lesser effort but still miles above Evil Of Frankenstein and especially the dreadful Horror Of Frankenstein. I think it's biggest deficit is the dull, abrupt ending and of course, no real "monster" but there's still a lot to recommend. Although I'll always prefer the Hammer Dracula series to the Frankensteins, there's no argument the Frankenstein series maintained a much higher level of artistry and thematic cohesion in large part due to Cushing's presence and the fact that Terence Fisher directed 5 of the 7 films.

agree that Horror of Frankenstein is really bad but personally find Evil to be loads of fun and a great tribute to Universal series. as for FCW it just is to far off the track for a Frankenstein film. has it's good points but not enough for me to really like it.

My 3 favorite endings in Hammer's Frankenstein series are the ones where Cushing continues onward:
The Revenge of Frankenstein
Frankenstein Created Woman
Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell

Agreed. Huge Hammer fan here and hoping for the best. I mentioned on their Facebook page about the annoying glitch that's present on both the US and Australian blu rays during the court room scene. I really hope they fix that. It's minor but it annoys me every time. Fingers crossed.

Glad I waited and didn't give in to eBay inflated prices. Would love to see Paramount get off the dime and release MONSTER FROM HELL, but I'll probably pull the trigger on the Region B now.
