I planned on making a favorite movie director poll for awhile, and since someone recently created a thread in regards to it, I think a poll is in order. I voted for Terrence Malick, btw.

ahh fair enough. i actually had both of them on at one point, but took them out in favor of some of the classic directors. i'm sure i probably could have added two more spots, but I chose not to. I think this poll will be pretty evenly spread out after awhile though, as most of the popular directors are included. I will say this, Shyamalan is a very talented director, he is just a poor screenwriter.

Its hard to decide on just one. Spielberg, Tarantino, Coen Brothers, Kubrick, Aronofsky, Del Toro are some of my favorites.

spike lee and clive barker were not negligent omissions, i purposely did not include them bc i didn't think they'd get enough votes. peter jackson i had on, so i'm surprised that he is not on there right now? the only thing i can think of is when i added more names, i must have thought that i already included him. i guarantee a lot of ppl would vote for him (and quite rightly). so, he is the one director i will admit a made a mistake in omitting, even if it was bc of a technical screw-up.

you could easily make a poll of 100 directors, bc everyone has a favorite, but i included the ones that i thought would get more than one vote a piece.

Out of the list I chose Tim Burton... I didn't see Guillermo Del Toro or Zack Snyder... all of them I have a hard time choosing between though, lol

Aronofsky's The Fountain is my favorite movie. That's a quality list of directors you listed though. I think it is very tough to pick a single director bc there are so many good ones.

hahaha easy there tough guy. i may be very opinionated about movies, but when it comes to someone's favorites (movie, director, etc.), I think it is ridiculous to criticize because movies are so subjective. But, on a site like this where so many ppl are knowledgable about movies and really love them, I think choosing a director that is pretty unanimously considered the worst director in history might lead to some harsh criticism.

Again u already deciding who will get votes!! I mean this is a very big and broad category and if u are gonna do it u should list more, unless like I do in my replys in the beginning I usually explain why or why not to not include someone etc.. but its good mane no skin off my back!! Got Em!!
