Really looking forward to this - even though it doesn't feature Christopher Lee, it's a fun vampire outing for Hammer.

As always, Cushing is fantastic.

Also appreciate the choice of aspect ratios by Shout.

ooooooooooH ! I Love that Cover Art ! : ) Maddox does Great Artwork for these Hammer Film releases. Day 1 for me as Usual. Too bad we can't have it for Halloween. Shout/Scream is Excellent ! I hope they do The Curse of Frankenstein eventually. : )

I'm loving all the Hammer vampire stuff Scream is giving us! I really enjoyed Kiss of the Vampire, and I'll preorder this one, too.

Absolutely love the artwork, love the movie and the fact that they are working with VARIOUS aspect ratio's. Of course this is day one, and will be replacing the Universal Hammer Horror box set release of Brides. Just hope it will not be a DARK transfer, as Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell seems to be, otherwise, love the fact that they are re-releasing this ! ! !

I'm probably only interested in this if they got a new transfer, the existing one is a bit worn and faded IMO, especially compared to the rather vivid DVD. I have the Anolis release which has the correct aspect ratio. Anyone with the US version definitely should pick this up even if it doesn't have a new transfer, just for the AR not being extremely cramped.

The specs on SF's site describe this as having a 'Various' aspect ratio, suggesting that this will be something like their release of Hammer's The Phantom of the Opera which had two aspect ratio options to watch the film in.

I have the Hammer Universal DVD box set and the Universal Blu-ray box set which both contain this film along with the French Blu-ray which I believe is extremely similar to the Anolis presentation. Honestly, I found the DVD to be the most pleasing presentation in the sense that I was less distracted by its issues. The current HD master is a mess, no matter which ratio it's in. Extremely noisy, badly sharpened and clipped. Just an eyesore, holding out to see what SF delivers seems like the best option if you don't already own this film.

They are doing a new transfer which should be leagues better than the HD master currently available

Agreed, I'm definitely going to hold out on this one until the reviews confirm the HD transfer is an improvement.

Frankenstein Created Woman, The Curse of the Werewolf, The Evil of Frankenstein, Kiss of the Vampire, and The Phantom of the Opera all have slipcovers.

The Collector's Editions come with a slip cover.
