Default Blu-ray vs HD DVD sales graph shows the winner

Hi

I have been looking for some realistic stats to compare Blu-Ray to HDDVD sales which I believe will in the end determine the winner. I am a Blu-Ray fan and would love to see them win.

I complied a graph of the Nielson/VideoScan weekly sales figures from which it is easy to see where the market is going. I will try and update every week.

Enjoy

Great work Meziter!

A nice easy way of seeing the results.

I would recommend changing the colour over though of the BR and HD DVD weeks. Red for HD DVD and blue for Blu-ray... just to make it that bit more easy to read.

But great stuff mate, keep it coming!

Great graph. While it is comforting to our sore blu eyes, HD-DVD still has an annoyingly strong presence.

Very nice chart illustrating BluRay's dominance. But I don't think the executives at GE/Universal and Viacom/Paramount can read this, perhaps something in braille may be more appropriate.

GE/Universal, they don't care.

Viacom/Paramount, they would believe anything as long as you give them enough $$

Very nice! But let's have a look at that chart again in 6 months time to see if there is any change in the trend. With all that happened this week the chart as it is, is now irrelevant.

You little PS3 fanboys need to comprehend that sales numbers don't mean squat yet as both are miniscule. Wow .002% of media sales versus .001% !!! Do they stop presidential elections once 200,000 people have voted? lol

BD/HD DVD need to "beat" D V D , which both have no chance of.

All graphs are off now. The numbers will jump up for HD-DVD. The question is by how much.

The biggest gain for them will be in new releases. That is what will affect the total sales. Older releases will only be looked into by new adoptees of HD-DVD.

Sure, that's why MS paid off Paramount because none of this realy matters yet.

Nice job! I've been looking for information this detailed for a long long time. I'm too lazy to make my own graph.

We are continously outselling HD-DVD and I expect that trend to continue even more so over the holiday season. I think our numbers will be much higher than they are now and the gap will continue to widen showing us on top of course.
