Circuit City Trading HD DVD Players for Blu-ray - Blu-ray Forum

I am all for people converting to BLU-RAY players but this is the only format war that I know of that ended with a nationwide retailer offering HD-DVD owners a chance to trade in their HD-DVD players for BLU-RAY players. A can see why Circuit City’s profits are hurting when they offer programs like this.

did you have to buy the HD-DVD player from Circuit city to qualify? or have your original store reciept?
