Cool What would be the next great Blu-news?

All these announcements lately - Netflix and Best Buy especially! Are building up for one heck of a "Valentines Day Massacre." We all WANT to hear Paramount and Universal announce their decision to go exclusively with Blu-ray - we all know those are the FINAL two nails in the coffin. BUT....I, for one, am really enjoying all these other companies releasing news statements this week - so I hope more companies continue this and Paramount and Universal hold on - just a little longer (for pure enjoyment! beat 'em while they're down! )

What other companies, even if it is highly unlikely, would you enjoy reading a news piece about them deciding to exclusively push/go with Blu-ray?

I would like to hear Universal announce, but I think Walmart is next to go Blu exclusive.

At this stage, the most significant development would be Universal, Paramount and/or Dreamworks announcing. The other dominos have been falling, as expected.

I doubt Walmart will ever do this unless Toshiba stops DH-DVD altogether, Walmart still sells VHS players and tapes.

From the above link. Good list - I doubt Target will pick a side...they have a pretty small selection of both formats...SD takes up their movie section. As far as Costco...I can picture them selling HD-DVD bundles and players for the next couple years at amazingly low prices.

Isn't Sams Club and Wal Mart owned by the same company?! If Wal Mart decides to go Blu- Sams Club can't be that far behind.?

Hollywood video is a good idea...that'd be a minor annoucement - but fun nonetheless.

If Amazon Discontinued HD-DVD movies then that would be the Killing blow.

that would be fantastic news

Watch the flood of HD-DUD people get in a huff

Putting the politics in there was not right.

My guess is either Best Buy will go outright exclusive. Or we will get word about Blockbuster removing what's left of it's HD DUDs.

just as an FYI I was completely sarcastic with the obama/hilary thing. I wasn't trying to sneak in my own politics...if I vote - neither of them get it.

no more politics! I didn't think anyone would take it seriously....I humbly apologize

Cool

it might be interesting of someone like "Fangoria" decided to push the Blu format in the horror industry. (remember we can even suggest highly-unlikely things!)

I have to admit...Goodwill was the most highly unlikely. B/c we all know the only thing you'll be able to get at Goodwill is HD-DVD stuff.

I thought it was pretty clear it was sarcastic... I thought it was hilarious... picked eenie, miney, moe and picked one of them instead of the other businesses.
