BD30 problem? - Blu-ray Forum

My Panny BD30 just started making a nasty sound while loading discs. They still load ok and it doesn't do it during the movie. I would exchange it but my CC does not have any more in stock. Does anybody have any thoughts on what it could be.

I have had my BD30 for 6 mothns now and had not had any problems. Did it just start making this noise? My player is at FIRMWARE level (1.4), the latest. What level is your player at?

Just upgraded to 1.4. It did it before and after the update. And yes it did make a normal loading noise before, only now it is a little nastier.

I would say to wait until it is back in stock, then return it.

bitstream only, decode - no.

S550 will decode all. Release date: AUG 2008 SRP $449
