Default Need Help Choosing A New HDTV!!!

I need help choosing a new HDTV. I do NOT want to spend more than $1150 and I do NOT want to buy a HDTV online, I want to be able to go into an actual store like: Best Buy, Circuit City, Sams Club, Etc..... My viewing distance is around 5'-8' (its for my bedroom). I'm not sure if I will be able to tell a difference between 720P and 1080P. I have a PS3 60GB BLU-RAY , Xbox 360 w/HD-DVD add-on. I do NOT know if it matters but my bedroom dimensions are 11' 2''-13' 6''. Hope everyone can give me some good, strong advice. So far I have found these 2 HDTV's that I like, let me know of any other HDTV's.

1. Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV
Model #: PAN-TH42PX75U

2. Samsung 42" Plasma HDTV
Model #: SAM-HPT4254

if you're buying in a store i'd definitely recommend costco, because:
(1) 90 day return policy if something happens (most stores only 30 days)
(2) automatically extend manufacturers warranty from 1 year to 2 years, most other stores its like $100+ to extend that

costco.com doesn't have much on there for plasmas/LCD's but the stores have much more than online, stop in one in your area and check them out! and between the panny and samsung, I'd go Panny for Plasma, but Samsung for LCD.

Recommend the Panasonic. Best Buy currently has the TH42PX80U in stock which literally just came out and have higher contrast ratios than the 75U series. I think they had it listed at $1299, a little over your $1150, but IMO for $150 its worth it and not something that you will be unhappy about in the long run considering the panel life of these TVs. Now whether you need a 1080p or 720p I will need some clarification. Since this TV is going into the bedroom, will you be hooking up your PS3 and your 360 in the bedroom or will those be one your main TV in the living room? And if you will be hooking them up you have to ask yourself if its worth the extra money to notice only a marginal difference. To really reap the full benefit of 1080p you would want a 46-50" at least. You might, might be able to notice a slight difference on the 40-42" range but probably not much.

EDIT: All retailers have some sort of price guarantee, so lets say you bought the TV tomorrow you have a period from the purchase date, either 60 days or 90 days in some cases to get the price changed and a credit back to you if the TV goes on sale for less than the original purchase price.

EDIT2: Go to monoprice.com to get HDMI cables if you don't have them already.

The Panasonic TH-42PZ80U - displays 1080x1920 and 24p native with 20,000:1 contrast $1500 recommended retail price

Panasonic TH-42PX80U -compatible 1080 input, but displays it in 720p, 24p 15,000:1 contrast $1,199 recommended retail

Get the PZ80U, native 1080p is worth it.
