that old TV question

hey guys...

well the TV i have in my sig developed a bad tube and yoke (or at least what it sounded like my tech said). anyway, so it boils down to two options. my store will replace my tv with the new 970 model or will give me $1,000 credit to a new set.

now, my current set is about a year and i paid $1,600 for it. obviously, i don't want to spend a whole lot on a new set since my current set is so recent. however, if i do get something new i want it to be a quality set.

i haven't done much shopping or anything like that but i have been looking at the kdf-50e2000 and the kdf-50a2000. aside from 1080p, any significant differences between the two? any other recommendations out there?
