An ISF Calibrator could fix that problem in your great set for maybe a couple of hundred bucks or so, tops, if you really want to keep it.

http://www.hdtvbychadb.com/ <- This was the one who did mine. I don't know where you live and if he covers your area or not.

He's amazed me at where he's ended up. If you want, fill out his form and send it in. It's non binding and he'll get back to you and you guys can hash it out and see if that's the way you want to go. Chad is a super great guy and he charges as low as you're ever going to see for all that kind of work.

^^ Otherwise use this.

The 970 is a rebadged HS420. It's a nice TV but it does NOT have the Super Fine Pitch Tube, which means adios to roughly 40 percent of that great resolution you've been spoiled by. It doesn't deserve to be called an XBR set.

If you want to leave the realm of CRT tube land, I guess this is as good a time as any, if you can afford it.

The a2000 or its XBR bretheren are probably your best choices all the way around.
