Default Anyone know how many copies of DK sold in 1st week in the US?

Hi all,

Does anyone know how many copies of The Dark knight were sold on Blu-ray in the US including the Limited Edition with Batpod, in the first week of release?

Or were I could find the info?

Many thanks

Andy

I don't think I've seen any US only numbers but hopefully they'll break it down for us sometime this week.

Well, considering that it sold over 600K on the first day alone, it could possibly surpass the 1M mark.

According to MaxPower, 1.5 million worldwide. I'm waiting for official figures. I'm going to assume it's right around the 1 m mark in America for first week.

1.5 million sounds great but yeah, hope 1 million of those were sold in the US. If the Matrix numbers were a hint, it looks like that is the case.

Yeah it's great news for a great movie and the best format.

I was one of the ones who went out and bought a new bigger, 27" TV to view my new snapper DVD of the matrix, back in the day...

I think this release is just as monumental if not more so.

The 600K was for the US, Canada and the UK.

From the way I read the post, I think it was a strong hint. The next couple days, articles should start to surface from HMM.

We were going from what we think is a hint from Maxpower and it seems to indicate that the total for the US will be $1 million or so. The worldwide total was at $1.7 million the last time we got a number.

See this post: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=617 for what we were thinking was a hint.

So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully we find out today for sure.
