Default Casino Royale blu-ray player

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this but I was watching Casino Royale last night and during the scene where he is watching the surveilance dvd in the Bahamas after backing the Land Rover into the Jag I noticed that there was a curve on the tray that came out of the player and I kept thinking to myself that looked like the blu-ray logo. I tried to keep watching the movie but couldn't let it go so I went back to that spot, paused it, and sure enough he was watching the surveilance dvd on a Sony Blu-Ray player

evidently blu had already taken over the Bahamas during the filming ( I know it was flimed in a studio but still makes you wonder, haha )

It's a Sony picture and besides the Sony blu player's in the surveilance room the film's also filled with Bravia's, Vaio's, and Sony Ericson cell phone's

It's distributed on video by Sony, so it's product placement. I was just happy they didn't make it real obvious, like panning across the Blu-ray logo like a certain filmmaker did with GM cars for a certain movie where the "transform" into robots. That movie, I can't remember its name, may as well have been a GM commercial. Also, remember the Mustang cop car had the pony logo missing, and no, not as an homage to bullitt.

Again, I liked the subtle placement of Blu-ray, but would prefer none. Having a billboard in the background, out of focus, is fine, but something like the closeups of the Bacardi sign on the taxi on Collateral is just horrible.

I think that's cool that Sony Pictures is trying to put BD players in their movies. Good job spotting that!

What's even more amazing is that it's supposed to be a Blu-ray BURNER, as he is watching recorded videos. Apparently you can get anything in the Bahamas.

the original intent of blu-ray was to be a recordable format (it still is), but due to the format war, Blu-ray companies dropped the recording aspect to lower prices.

Someone else on the forum mentioned it a while ago. Good catch. Did anyone see that quick shot of the Sony 300 in the bar scene on 3:10 to Yuma? It goes by pretty quick so get the pause button ready.

I actually noticed that one in one of the storyboards that were made way even before they started shooting the movie, but nice try. Keep 'em coming, I love a challenge.

There is also a Sony 300 in the Ten Commandments. Reference the tent scene where Moshibelle is being stand-offish with Moses as her younger sisters are dancing for him to snare a husband. You can see it next to the caraffe of sheep dropping wine for about 2 seconds.

Commandment No. 11: Thou shalt not coven inferior HD formats.

I noticed it right away as well, on my first viewing in theaters. If you ask me, it was kind of hard to miss.

Agreed, but I saw it before anyone else on this forum did. I just didn't feel like making a thread about it at the time.

did anyone notice that the Wizard of Oz foreshadowed this all? I mean the Blu girl (Dorothy) crushed the Red Witch.
