Discontinued Blu-Rays???????? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey gang, just went to Ebay to purchase "We Were Soldiers" for Blu (which I didn't even know was a Blu title until recently), and noticed it was $80. I did a double take and thought it was a misprint. Turns out this title is discontinued. Discontinued? How many did they print? Are we aware of any other titles that may be "discontinued". If so, share them here please so I can purchase them now. I know studios discontinue stuff so they can sell you the newer version with more special features, I can only hope they rerelease this title. Thanks for any info.

It is because it is Paramount, I would wait till they re-release all of those. $80 is way to much to pay for a movie like that.

paramount dropped Blu-ray last August but they are going to start releasing their old titles again soon.
So it might be expensive now, but it will drop in price a lot once it is in print again. Just wait on it and you will see it again.

check you local Circuit City. The one closest to me has 2 in-stock for either 30 or 25 bucks

Patience. They are all gonna be restocked faster than you can say "The Look and Sound of ...well, Blu-ray"

This will be restocked soon when Paramount gets back to work.

don't waste your money, especially if you didn't know this was previously released..... it's pretty obvious you haven't been on the edge of your seat waiting for this title, so just get a blind buy on something else, and have fun!!!

Last time I checked(Monday), Tower.com has "We Were Soldiers" on Blu Ray in stock.

I would definitely wait for Paramount to reissue before buying. None of their early Blu-ray films had lossless audio tracks, and most had sub-par video transfers.

Hopefully, Paramount will clean up its act and improve the quality of its Blu-ray releases.
