The 40" Sony XBR4 is currently on sale at Best Buy for $2000, I think it would fit your requirements quite nicely. I certainly enjoy mine.

now im mad, i have a 40" samsung, and the one in that first link is the SAME price as mine. but guess what? it has a higher contrast, and its 120hz i hate when technology does this, it moves and never stop's (wich is a good thing)...........oh well time to use my service plan if you know what i mean. EDIT:...... oh it doesin't have 120hz.....i looked to fast. EDIT AGAIN: it does have 120hz but its not the i was looking at........ This is the one i saw with the same price as mine. not 120hz but it still has a higher contrast. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1202649424827

Why would you get a 40" 1080p? Are you a superhero and your power is super sight?

Because you can't see the difference and it's just wasting money?

Well personally i love wasting money and i can see the difference! why should i go for a 720p tv when i can get the benefit of 1080p for a little bit extra!
if i can afford it why should i buy the inferior technology?

this is correct you won't notice a difference.
in fact some people with 120hz don't like it for movies.
the thing that pisses me off is the only way to get 1080p/24fps is a 120 hz hdtv.i read on some models you can shut off the 120hz for movies.
the issue with some folks is when using this technology on bd movies or hd dvd sometimes the movies looks like it speeds up.on the other hand some folk don't have an issue.
