Stick with the original, this one isn't worth it...

I would love to get my hands on the original Eye 1 & 2 on blu ray.

They might not have advertised it much in Canada, but they advertised the HECK out of here in the US.

I never take a "Grifter"'s word for it...

Besides, the original didn't have Jessica Alba!

It was one of those "in the theater about 3 weeks" type of movies.

this one is chinese remake. Shutter, which is releasing soon if not already, is a Thai remake. Tartan has the original on DVD but very poor quality. I thought I was watching a bootleg copy at first.

I'll pick it up. I like most of the Asian Horror remakes.

Dark Water was sorta disappointing, but the others were top notch.

Granted. The original film isn't really very good either. But that's beside the point.

This actually wasn't the worst of all the asian remakes.
But again, it wasn't that great either.

But any film with Jessica Alba is worth at least checking out, in my book anyway.

the fact that she's not in it is one the reasons its better because there is acting in it!

I don;t really associate the remakes with the originals. I can enjoy both separately. Case in point:
- Premonition. Nothing like the original, but still a good story.
- Pulse. The original is my all time fav J-Horror. I like the remake too though.
- Ring. Originals are great. Spiral (the original sequel) is also great. I like the remakes too. Even Ring 2.

I haven't seen the Dark Water remake, but have heard good reports from people I have similar taste to. One Missed Call remake I have heard nothing good about, but I'd give it a go.
